本課程為訓練學生進行颱風實務診斷分析，透過各種觀測資料、全球分析資料與模式預報資料的分析，逐一檢視颱風生命期中，其生成條件、移動路徑、發展條件與結構特徵之大氣條件，藉以驗證颱風相關學理並培養學生專業氣象診斷分析能力。授課重點包括颱風相關議題之文獻討論、分析方法介紹、資料收集與繪圖、理論依據檢驗等。
This course is designed for training students to practically analyze the tropical cyclone (TC). Through the analysis of various observational data, global analysis data and model forecast data, the atmospheric conditions during TC's life period, e.g., formation condition, steering flow, development condition and structural characteristics are investigated. Based on these trainings and practices from the course, the TC related theory could be examined and the practical diagnostic skill could be established
